Members of Igbo Community Assembly (ICA), Idu Koro Unit in Abuja have concluded arrangements to mourn four of their members who died between 2016 and 2017 come September the 24th, 2017.
Briefing journalists to that effect recently in his palace in the ancient city of Idu-Koro, the Paramount ruler of Ndigbo in the area, Ezeudo Jude Davison Igwe informed that the deceased to be mourned are Humphrey Nwadede, Charles Amaechi (Omo) both from Mbaise in Imo state; Nwafor Emelue (Enyi) from Awkuzu in Anambra state and Augustine Ogbuanyinya from Nsukka in Enugu state. Calling non members among sons and daughters of Ndigbo in the area to join the association due to its benefits, the royal father said that until their death, the deceased were worthy members who contributed immensely to the unity of Ndigbo in the area, just as he urged those left to mourn them to take heart and leave the rest to God.
The chairman of ICA in the Unit, Abbanobi-Eku Onyeka in a condolence message urged the deceased families to take heart and be prayerful; have hope and trust in God Who he said had answers for everything. Abbanobi-Eku Onyeka therefore spoke at length on the need for every Igbo person in the Unit to join the association, saying that Ndigbo are known for unity of purpose.
The chairperson of the women’s wing, Mrs Christiana Onu Kalu also consoled their widows and urged them to embrace God as well as ensure that they maintain membership with the Association. The Association’s grand patron, Chief (Dr) John Anadimma said that the deceased deserved the great morning planned for them, even as he commended the Association for the giant stride. He lamented seriously on the need for all Ndigbo resident in the area to join the Association, saying a single tree doesn’t make a forest. Also calling on Ndigbo resident in the area to join the Association was the youth wing leader of the Association, Samuel Chijioke who assured Ndigbo of his members’ supports during the event.
