Super Eagles striker Brown Ideye has shown great desire to prove he is not a bad buy as he scored a goal in West Brom’s behind closed doors friendly against Leicester.

The Nigerian striker who recently revealed that he has been a subject of attack on social media from Albion fans is hoping his performances in the international break will see Coach Alan Irvine consider him for action at the Bridge againgst Chelsea in the next round of EPL fixture.

Aside Ideye, Silvestre Varela also pushed his claim for a first team spot at West Bromwich Albion by scoring in the Leicester friendly too.

Ideye and Varela are both summer signings – but have failed to make an impact at the Hawthorns so far; Varela due to injury, while Ideye has been kept out of the team in recent weeks.

However, Varela is now stepping up his recovery from his hernia operation and Ideye has recently outlined his determination to get back in the reckoning.

Both may have increased their chances with their respective performances.

Georgios Samaras and Sebastian Blanco were also in action for the Baggies, while the Leicester team included the likes of Nick Powell, Anthony Knockaert and Marc Albrighton.
