A mild drama ensued when some aggrieved N-power applicants under Bwari Area Council have halted the verification exercise following what they termed ‘injustice’ towards them.
The applicants, who are mostly natives of the area halted the ongoing physical verification of the 2017 N – power scheme of the federal government, saying they were excluded from the scheme against the initial plan.
Some of the eyewitnesses, who spoke to journalists disclosed that the indigenes felt being side-lined in the selection process going by the names released.
An witness, Moses Kpum said that youth in their numbers besieged the council secretariat, attacked the beneficiaries of the scheme on sight and sent every one away.
He added that the youth tore the list of successful beneficiaries pasted outside the council as part of the guidelines for the physical verification exercise.
Another witness, Dominic Okeke explained that the youth were abetted by the security personnel on ground due to tribal sentiments.
He added that even the council staff were not pleased with the exercise and assisted the youths in disrupting the scheme.
Meanwhile, on a visit to the office for the physical verification exercise, it was shut from the public as at press time.
