The Lagos Police Command have arrested one Alhaji Olatunji Azeez who is alleged to have buried a retired custom officer and her 10 year old adopted daughter alive over her insistence that the suspect refund  the over two hundred million  naira fleeced from her.

The suspect who resides at Ajuwon Akute in Ogun state was alleged to have buried his victim at a newly reconstructed site on No. 9 Wadoye Street Pipeline, Ajuwon area of Ogun state.

Addressing pressmen in his office in Lagos, the state Police Commissioner, Umar Manko said the drama into the chilling revelation and the subsequent arrest of the suspect started when the family of the retired 68 year-old custom officer, whose name was given as Mrs. Angela Kerry, reported a case of missing person at the New Oko- Oba police station.

The Police at the station, according Manko, swung into action and when it became obvious that they were spending longer period to unravel the riddle ,he was compelled to invite the Officer-in-Charge of the State Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) led by Abba Kyari, a Superintendent of Police (SP), instructing them to take charge of the case and ensure the suspect is traced.

It was Kyari and his team of cracked detectives, Manko said,  that, through the tracking device installed on the victims Toyota Camry, spotted the car in a parking lot  somewhere in Lagos and that upon inquiry from the  owner of the parking lot, they were led to the house of the suspect who initially told a story that implies that it was the victim that asked him  to help her look for a buyer and that the woman suddenly stopped coming to him when he requested the documents be provided before he could possibly dispose-off the car.

Manko further said that much as the suspect pretended to sound convincing, the Police were not taken in by the story and decided to probe further, and that it was this further probe that led to the suspect confessing to the burying of the victims and led the crack detectives to his house, where he carried out the horrendous act.

He was said to have narrated how he dug the almost forty feet well and laid a mat on it and after hypnotizing the victim, led her to sit on the mat covering the well, which she immediately fell into and that the adopted daughter whom he suspected could reveal the act if he let her to go, he threw into the well and buried them by pouring the dugout sand on them.

To conceal the act from any prying eyes, the suspect said, he cemented their grave.

When talking with reporters at the Police Command, the suspect said he knew the victims five years ago, through one of  his girlfriend he simply called lizzy and that after a year and six weeks of their relationship, the victim gave him ten million naira to acquire landed properties.

The transaction was to continue, according to him, with the suspect demanding more money from the victim, who unknowingly was been swindled as the properties shown her actually belonged to some other persons.

He said that when the woman, apparently responding to her haunches, suspected that he was taking her for ride and thereafter began to demand the refund of her money, he further said he gave the victim two million five hundred naira as part of the refund she demanded and that when she began to put more pressure on him that he hatched the plan to eliminate her and that the plan that came to his mind was the well he dug and that when he eventually succeeded  in carrying out the plot ,saying he heaved a sigh of relief, saying to himself that he has finally captured his enemy that wanted to kill him.
