Kaduna state Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board overseer, Malam Kabiru Kasim yesterday said the board has already secured befitting accommodations for this year’s intending pilgrims close to Holy Mosque in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.
The overseer disclosed this during a Radio Nigeria Hausa programme, titled:‘Don Maniyyata’ (intending pilgrims), in Kaduna.
He explained that the accommodation was very close to the Haram, which would be easier for intending pilgrims to visit at any time.
According to him, the state Governor, Muktar Ramalan Yero had during his visit to Saudi Arabia last week personally inspected the accommodation arrangementsin Mecca and expressed satisfaction with the location of the houses.
Kasim said the board has introduced unified preaching in all the 23 local government areas in the state, so as to educate and sensitise intending pilgrims on the Hajj exercise.
He said unified preaching would give intending pilgrims an opportunity to have one understanding of the Hajj rituals.
It could be recalled that the board, a few weeks ago, organised a workshop for clerics and pilgrims’ officers in all 23 local government areas of the state.
The theme of the workshop was: “Train the Trainers”, aimed at educating the preachers and staff of the board on Hajj issues, with a view to further educating the intending pilgrims under their care.
A caller of the program advised the board to engage more women Hajj officials so as to assist women during the forthcoming exercise.
