Gunmen, suspected to be members of armed bandits, yesterday invaded Soro village, in Ganjuwa local government area of Bauchi state, killing the District Head, Alhaji Abdurrahman Isa Baba 45 years old and 2 others, cart away large sums of money
Sources told our correspondent that “The gunmen, six in number, stormed the village with guns on foot on Saturday night and opened fire on the district head of Soro village and one of his relatives, whom they meet them together in his sitting room and collected undisclosed amount of money; on coming out, they shot one person to death again”.
The Bauchi state Police Command’s Police Public Relation officer DSP Haruna Mohammed, confirmed the incident to news men at the weekend in Bauchi, adding that the combined security forces visited the scene and that the victims were rushed to the hospital.
The Police spokesman said the entire surrounding have been cordoned-off and efforts are being intensified to arrest the fleeing suspects.
