Last Wednesday turned out to be a black one in Katsina state as gunmen suspected to be armed robbers in a separate raid attacked a Super Market in Katsina metropolis, killing a police officer, Ibrahim Sani Batsari.
Also in Kankia town, a 14 year old girl was kidnapped by the rampaging gunmen who attacked her family house.
The Katsina Police Command Spokesman, Isah Gambo who confirmed the incident added that the gunmen had made away with the slain police officer’s riffle.
Our correspondent gathered from eye witnesses at the scene of the incident that the slain officer was actually on patrol around the area when he decided to go into a nearby WAPA Super Market to charge his phone where the assailants that attacked the super market spotted him carrying a rifle and shot him.
Meanwhile, in Kankia town, suspected gunmen invaded the house of one, Alhaji Salisu Mai tiles located in Sabuwar Abuja quarters of the town around 1:30 am where after carting away with huge sums of money also abducted his 14 year old daughter.
Sources from the area told Our Correspondent that after the attack the gunmen also blocked Katsina-Kankia-Kano road where they robbed passengers travelling along the road.
Similarly, a source from the family of the kidnapped girl told Our Correspondent that the kidnappers had made contact with the family of the abducted girl demanding N100 million ransom before her release.
