A six man gunmen operating within Ogwashi Uku metropolis in Delta state in the early hours of Thursday abducted a middle aged developer at Edo-Ogwashi Uku quarters.
Although the woman whose name was given as Juliet as the time of this report, was said to have forced into the waiting vehicle of the suspected kidnappers, but family sources said she may have been dumped in the forest by her abductors who later drove into the quarters shooting sporadically to scare residents of the area.
It was gathered that the kidnap suspects drove into Edo Ogwashi Uku quarters fully armed as they forcefully dragged their targeted victim into a waiting vehicle that zoomed off to an unknown destination few minutes after.
Sources said no ransome has been established as at the time of this report, a situation that had thrown here relations and children into confusion, especially with her unknown whereabouts.
But the police commissioner in the state, Adeleke Adeyinka when contacted, confirmed the incident, saying that the police were on the trail of the kidnap suspects and assured that the police will do everything possible to ensure her release unhurt, especially with their new strategies in place.
It would be recalled that an Asaba based Senior Advocate of Nigeria ( SAN) Barr Chike Oyemenem was kidnapped recently along with his personal Assistant as they returning from an assignment on Edo Ogwashi Uku quarters and Ubulu Uku axis and was subsequently released after paying ransome of N7million to his adbuctors.
Meanwhile, an unidentified woman has been reportedly found dead in an underground safety tank pupolarly called well somewhere at Ishekpe quarters in Ogwashi Uku
It was gathered that from the decomposing state of the woman,her face could not be identified but it was obvious that the lady was not from the area.
Sources said that the woman was found floating in the well by a brother to the owner of the compound who had gone to fetch water,a situation she raised the alarm that attracted people to the scene and efforts were made to remove her body through the police at Ogwashi Uku Police Division.
police commissioner in the state Adeleke Adeyinka who spoke to Journalists on the incident said that investigation was ongoing with a view to ensuring those who dumped her corpse into the well are arrested, adding that the police have introduced 24hours survilliance in Ogwashi Uku metropolis and its environs, and warned that it will no longer be business as usual for criminals in the state.
