Movement, Kaduna-North local government area wing, yesterday appealed to the state governor, Muktar Ramalan Yero and other party stakeholders to intervene in the crisis rocking the party in the local government, before the party looses grip of dominance in the area ahead of the 2015 elections.

Addressing newsmen in the state, group’s Coordinator Comrade Jacob Jatau said it is unhealthy for anyone in PDP to fuel crisis and sponsor thugs at a time the party is trying to regain its relevance within the local government being ruled by the opposition party, All Progressive Congress.

“The Forum observed with dismay the level of political hooliganism displayed by some sponsored party members against other members because of power tussle and election.

“It is unfortunate that a commissioner, who was a former council chairman in the same Kaduna-North local government council (name withheld) has been confirmed to be behind the recent internal wrangling and division threatening the party effort to recapture the local governor during the forthcoming 2014 local government election in the area,” he alleged.

Jatau noted that now that the party is undergoing total reconciliation, it is important to avoid any act that will further weaken the party in the local government area of the state.

He also described as regrettable, a situation where a commissioner openly threatened a highly respected senior member of the party in the area, Mamman Tambuwal.

Jatau urged the former council boss to sheath his sword and join hands with other stakeholders to reposition the party to win elections again.
