The Chairman, Non- Academic Staff Union of National Agency for Science and Infrastructure(NASENI) Branch, Comrade Edibo Peter has given reasons why his association’s plan for a peaceful protest within and around the national Headquarters to register their displeasure against the continued stay in office of his boss, after his tenure has elapsed did not go on as planned but assured supporters that they have to restrategize until their aims and objectives becomes a reality.
According to Comrade Peter,” Professor Haruna tenure as the Chairman/Executive Vice Chairman of NASENI has expired some weeks ago.
He blamed some NASENI staff for the partial failure of the protest, saying they are “cawards” even though many had agreed on such a move before they back out adding, many people prefer to die in silence rather than say and stand on the parts of the truth”.
The planed protest which was billed to commerced from 8:30am today by the Non-Academic Staff of (NASENI) was rebuffed by some staff of the organization.
Again, a face-off between members of the Press invited to cover the protest and another group who call themselves Concern staff of NASENI was averted when journalists quickly stage a work out from the promises of NASENI having sense serious danger.
The pro chairman group was physically unhappy about the planed protest against their boss whom they claimed have done well and should be given tenure.
In a paper circulated to journalists by the group, before the left, said in parts: “We watch with dismay the insincerity of and hate being implored by some masked forces within and outside NASENI to thwart and blackmail the excellent efforts of the Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of NASENI, by pretending to hide under expiration of tenure”.
The group also tried to video journalists outside, with their phones even though they had left the premises of NASENI before they were call back by another senior staff of the establishment.
