From: Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

A Group under the auspices of Muslim Youth Foundation of Southern Kaduna (MYFOSKA) has commended the efforts of the Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Isa Muhammadu Isa and the Agwa Atyap Dominic Yahaya for their fatherly role in restoring peace to Southern Kaduna.
The Group stated this in a Communique issued after a Stakeholders meeting in kafanchan.
The Communique signed by the Group National Chairman Kabiru Muhammed stated that the stakeholders welcomed the initiative of the Emir of Jama’a, who from the unset of the current tension in Kafanchan summoned a meeting of youth and other stakeholders at his palace and enjoined them to live peacefully with one another and that no one should take laws into his hands.
He added that people should report any strange movement of persons and suspicious activities capable of endangering peace to constituted authorities.
Similarly the Group also commended the effort made by Agwa Atyap to reconcile the warring communities in his chiefdom by making them to sign a Peace Accord.
“ MYFOSKA attributed the Worsening poverty in the zone as key factor that often leads to fierce competition between the factionalized groups over scarce economic or natural resources.
“ While one group depends on skills to earning a means of sustenance, the other group which largely dependent on white collar job that was not forthcoming have developed the tendency of envy and transferring their frustrations on the other group that are equally educated but relatively self-made in skills and small business ventures.
“ From experience, the economic exerting condition has remain particularly true when livelihoods are based on environmentally damaging practices, such as over-grazing or unsustainable farming practices.”
