Group empowers wives of falling Heros

The Late Lieutenant Col. kabiru Yusuf Help for Heroes Foundation, as part of activities marking the end of the year 2017, has empowered widows of late soldiers in Bauchi and Plateau states.
The President and Founder of the non-governmental organisation, (NGO), Alhaji Mashood Kayode Yusuf made the assertion while Speaking to the media in kaduna yesterday.
Alhaji Yusuf said the gesture is aimed at providing relief for the widows in the spirit of the upcoming Christmas celebrations.
The President who was represented by the Matron of the Foundation, Hajiya Shola Raji, while addressing the widows at Zaranda Hotels Bauchi and Mama Mia Hotels Jos, Plateau States respectively, assured the widows of the Charity Organisation’s commitment to continue to assist them in every way possible to make their lives easier.
‘Be rest assured that the doors of the foundation are open to you at all times, but it is important to stress that the foundation is not in any way responsible for helping any widow collect their benefits and entitlements. We will try our utmost best to empower you and ease your sufferings in any way we can”, she said.
In an interview, some of the widows said this is the first time anyone has done something like this for them. They expressed their appreciation to the NGO for remembering them and called on other good spirited Nigerians and organizations to emulate them.
According to Mrs Ibrahim and Mrs Rahila Hosea, Mrs Zuwaira Ibrahim and Mrs Fatima Abdullahi who are some of the widows in Bauchi “we like to thank this Charity organization for remembering us, before now we thought we were on our own. We are happy that there are still kind hearted people in this world that are willing to help others” they said.
Also in Jos Plateau State some of the widows said “For a very long time after the deaths of our husbands we have been on our own. This is the first time anyone has done something like this for us. We pray to Almighty God to continue to bless and reward them for their efforts and replenish their pockets”.
They also called on their fellow widows to remain steadfast and not to lose faith rather they should commit themselves to building the lives of the children.
Items distributed to the widows include food items and cooking oil among others.
Alhaji Yusuf disclosed that the presentation will move to the Foundation Headquarters in kaduna where over 200 widows are expected to be empowered.
