Group calls for Kaduna PDP chairman’s resignation

Following allegations of multiple breach of the People Democratic Party’s constitution and National Working Committee’s agreement on crucial issues in Kaduna State, a group, the coalition of PDP Ambassadors yesterday called on Kaduna state chairman of the party to resign his position in the interest of internal democracy.
The group stated this in a statement made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
According to the statement, “ Hassan Felix Hyet’s inability or refusal to implement the decision of the National Working Committee on R-APC and suspension of elected party official which contradicts the party’s constitution is completely unaccepted.”
The statement signed by Alhaji Haruna Ahmadu and Ambassador Jolly Harrison Coordinator and Secretary respectively added that Hassan Felix Hyet has led the party with topmost disregard for party constitution evidence in replacing duly elected PDP officials in the State working committee and aligning with a gubernatorial aspirant before primaries’’
‘’Hyet has also aligned himself with a presidential aspirant which contravenes the constitution of the party. PDP constitution does not permit a state chairmen to attend rallies and other campaigns with gubernatorial and presidential aspirants before primaries,’’ It added.
Also speaking on the issue, a party stalwart Hajia Ladidi Ahmed who spoke to newsmen on telephone warned that should the PDP party chairman refuse to reverse, the coalition will have no choice but to mobilize thousands of supporters to decamp to the ruling All Progressive Congress in Kaduna Recall that, the gubernatorial aspirants of the PDP last week stormed the Nigerian Union Of Journalists, NUJ, office protesting and accusing the party in Kaduna State of compromise.
Aspirants who protested included Dr. Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi, and Alhaji Sani Sidi.
