Group accepts results of Kaduna gubernatorial election, faults CUPP position

A group under the auspices of Political Party Chairmen Forum (PPCF) Kaduna state chapter has said that as a forum they have upheld the gubernatorial election in Kaduna state as announced by the returning Officer Professor Muhammad Bello Yahuza.
The PPCF equally urged the general public to also uphold the election results in the state and ignore the press statement by Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) which called for the cancellation of the election over an alleged irregularities.
Addressing a Press conference yesterday, the PPCF which comprised of 25 political parties said that they find it hard to believe CUPP because of issues bothering on double standard and falsehood.
The PPCF said as a forum, they recognized Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai as duly elected and declared winner of the elections by majority votes.
The PPCF noted that the CUPP in their recent press statement said that an umbrella of 41 political parties and 18 governorship Candidate joined together to reject results as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
PPCF said that the CUPP are economical with the truth and queried “they claimed that over 650 polling units were cancelled but failed to support their claim with any data that can validate the authenticity of their claims”.
The PPCF claimed that it was only 19 polling units that were cancelled across the state, adding that “From the claim of CUPP, it is very clear that they are neither at any of the local government where they alleged Smart Card Readers (SCR) were not used.
“Though it is a fact that some polling units were cancelled for refusal to use the card readers, and where some elements forced themselves into a polling unit where they are not registered and threatened INEC staff on duty at Sabo Tasha in Chikun local government Area”.
The text signed of the briefing was signed by Comrade Bilal Adam Halilu, said that in “Kaduna North, thugs suspected to be PDP members, bulldozed themselves into the Shehu Abdullahi primary school venue of collation centre,of Mai Burji Ward and disrupted the proceedings which led to the final cancellation of the ward which APC was poised to win.”
