From Muhammad Ibrahim, Kaduna
Worried over the continued criticism of Kaduna state governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero by some southern Kaduna political class, a PDP chieftain in the area, Mr Modercai Sunday Ibrahim yesterday stated that the governor is not in any way denigrating his successor, Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa in death as being claimed in the area.
Ibrahim made this statement, in an interview with newsmen in the state, saying that the state governor has nothing against the people of southern part of the state as some people are made to believe.
He frowned at the people who accused the governor of abandoning road projects in Southern Kaduna after Yakowa’s death, saying it was not true.
“It is false; you don’t just make spurious allegations, and how is Yero denigrating Yakowa in death? Do they love Yakowa more than Yero? You don’t just sit down in the comfort of your home and begin to criticize a government by saying the Yero’s government has discontinued with the projects Yakowa started when you have not gone round to see level of work done.
“Please, don’t let us open the can of worms; it is incorrect. Yero has not abandoned any project initiated by Yakowa in Southern Kaduna. Go round the roads one after the other and show us which road has been abandoned by Yero,” he said,
The chieftain also said most of the contractors that handled the projects were given 25 percent of the money but decided to disappear.
