Governor Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar of Zamfara state has presented before the state House of Assembly the sum of 130,791,069,950 billion naira being proposed budget for the year 2018 tagged as ‘budget of consolidation’ which realised the increase of over 23 billion naira against the 2017 budget.
Governor Yari, who reiterated that, the 2018 policy measures of his administration will focus on consolidating gains further said, it also aimed at maintaining existing policy objectives. “The proposal is based on the projected revenues of 46,449,068,950 and 84,342,000,000 for recurrent and capital for the year.
Reviewing 2017 budget, governor Yari stated that, “ By the year 2017, budget performance in both revenue and expenditure stood at 57.39%, this indicates that the sum of 66,200,856,789 billion naira was expended from January to August.
Within the same period under review, the current expenditure to the tune of 34,802,532,748 billion naira was carried out, while the capital expenditure to the tune of 30,688,576,434 billion naira was also carried out
He however, informed that, the state government is expecting the total sum of 56,974,478,357.25 being reimbursement funds from CBN as directed by President Buhari upon the constructions of over 610 kilometres federal roads across the state.
“Already, committees from both the executive and legislative arms of government at the federal level have visited the sites to assess and varify our claim. Some of the claimed projects were indeed commissioned by their Excellencies President Muhammadu Buhari and, Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo respectively.
