Gombe state governor Muhammadu Yahaya has dissolved state governing council of tertiary institutions instituted by the past administration.
The governor made the announcement on Monday during the state Executive council meeting at the government house chamber.
Briefing newsmen shortly after the meeting, commissioner for Higher education Mr. Meshach Lauco said the dissolution of the governing council of the state tertiary institutions was aimed at giving the government a play ground to harmonies the institutions.
The meeting which lasted for hours was said to have approved alot of projects to be executed for the benefit of citizens of Gombe state.
The dissolution of the governing council of the state tertiary institutions was inline with the power vested on the governor he said.
According to him, this government is committed to do everything it could to bring change in our education sector.
He however denied the closure of some of the tertiary institutions in the state adding that government is working tirelessly to ensure that state tertiary institutions are improved.
