Governor Ibrahim Shehu Shema of Katsina state, yesterday launched a N14 billion Subsidy Reinvestment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P), with a call to the operators of the programme to spend all the funds for the programme.
Governor Shema who spoke while inaugurating the 34 local government coordinators of the programme, said the funds would be used for projects in all corners of the state.
” we have N14 billion for the SURE-P programme in Katsina State. The money will for used for projects to be executed in all parts of the state. You should also use the money judiciously” he added.
He noted that the SURE-P projects would compliment the many projects executed by his administration in all parts of the state, adding that there was no sector of the state that was not touched by his administration.
Shema therefore tasked the local government coordinators of the programme to work closely with the state office and other stakeholders in ensuring the success of the programme in the state.
Earlier in a remark, the special adviser SURE-P Katsina State, Alhaji Nasiru Ingawa assured the governor that his office would ensure the judicious use of the funds allocated for the programme.
In a related development, the governor also yesterday launched brand new vehicles purchased for members of the state executive council to according to him facilitate their operations in the state.
He said all the successes recorded by his administration were as a result of the support of members of the council and stressed that “they deserve support to execute their duties effectively”.
