Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki will on Tuesday speak at the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), mandatory training programme.
The 2019 event which is billed for 10am at Edo State NUJ Press Centre, Benin City, according to the organizing Committee Chairman, Don Ofure Osehobo is entitled: “Fake News as a Menace to Nigeria’s democracy”.
He said in a statement that the former General Manager of the Edo Broadcasting Service, Revd. Tunde Ebozogie from Benson Idahosa University, Benin City, will deliver a paper on Contemporary definitions and Concepts of Fake News as well as sources while a former Insider Magazine Correspondents, Dr Felix Oriakhi from Federal University, Otuoke, Bayelsa State, will speak on impact of Fake News on National development and Nigeria’s Democratic Experiment.
Correspondents’ Chapel, comprises journalists from National Dailies, Magazines and television stations whose head offices are located outside Edo State but were deployed to work in the State
The statement adds that programme will feature an opening Ceremony which will be open to the Public with Special Guest of Honour, Governor Godwin Obaseki and Chaired by Prof Edoba Omoregie of the University of Benin Faculty of Law.
It said that there will be a facility tour by invited Guests of the Correspondents Chapel Secretariat at the NUJ Press Centre, Benin City, after the opening Ceremony in the morning.
