From Ibrahim Sidi Muh’d, Gusau

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State has pledged to sponsor 100 children of indigenous people with disability in the state into various tertiary institutions across the county and beyond.
Matawalle made the pledge while receiving ten amalgamated associations of people with disability who paid him courtesy visit at Government House Gusau yesterday.
The Governor said his administration has already constituted a committee with the responsibility to revive all the abandoned fourteen Skill Acquisition Centers to continue to train people with disability in a bid to stop them from streets begging.
“My administration, being all-inclusive, is ready to work out strategies with a view to ensure that people with disability in the state are rubbing shoulders with other people who are physically fit and are contributing towards the development of economy in the state.
“For this reason therefore, I have directed for the immediate selection of 100 indigenous children of people with disability to be sponsored into various Universities within and outside the country for them to further their education”, Governor Matawalle has stated.
Governor Matawalle, following requests by the leaders of the associations, has donated twenty vehicles and ten million naira with a view to promote their livings in the state.
“I want to clearly state that, I saw it obligatory for me to do everything possible at my disposal, to change your lives from begging to join the communities that have economic potentiality in them, so that we start counting on you in terms of commercial productivity”, Matawalle has stressed.
