Gov. Matawalle pledges to build first class hospital in hometown

Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle of Zamfara State said that his administration has concluded arrangements for the construction of a first class hospital in his hometown, headquarters of Maradun local government area of the state.
Matawalle made the pledge Tuesday at the General Hospital Maradun when he paid a sympathy visit to some of his party supporters involved in a motor accident and sustained various degree of injuries while on their way to pay him Sallah homage at his Maradun local government hometown.
He assured of his administration’s plans to construct the first class hospital in Maradun town in a very strategic place that will provide best health care services to the people of the local government area and surrounding.
Governor Matawalle added that part of his administration’s policy is to provide world class health facilities at all levels across the state, adding that, free health care services will be provided for women and children.
While sympathising with the victims, the Governor directed for their Immediate referral to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau for better medical attention, promising that the State Government will take care of all the medical bills to be charged for treatments.
Conducting the Governor round the hospital, Principal Medical Officer of the hospital, Dr. Abdulrahman Salihu Gummi, informed him that, the hospital currently operates only with four functioning departments and needs rehabilitation and upgrade of some of dilapidated units.
