Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has expressed shock at the news of the passing away of former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru Musdapher and that of Alhaji Muhammad Bello Iliya Damagum, an executive director at Media Trust Ltd, publishers of Trust Newspapers.
The governor’s thoughts and sympathies are with their respective families at this time of great loss, a statement signed by Abdullahi Bego
Director-General Press Affairs to His Excellency Governor Ibrahim Gaidam said yesterday.
According to the statement, “Governor Gaidam recalls the prominent role that Justice Musdapher has played in the administration of justice in the country, describing him as a man of honour and integrity whose services have helped made our nation stronger.
“The governor recalls that as member of Media Trust’s top management, late Bello Iliya Damagum was a key player in the development of the company as a strong and enviable media group in the country.
“The governor notes his role in Media Trust’s drive to galvanise support for victims of Boko Haram insurgency in Yobe State through the company’s IDPs’ Fund.
“On behalf of the government and people of Yobe State, therefore, His Excellency Governor Gaidam expresses his heartfelt condolences to the family of Late Justice Musdapher and that of Late Alhaji Muhammad Bello Damagum.”
Governor Gaidam prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased of their shortcomings, admit them to al-Jannatul Firdausi and give their respective immediate families, friends and associates the fortitude to bear the loss.
