The Buhari, Osinbajo campaign organization for second term has warned the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buharin to be careful with Adamawa State governor Muhammad Umaru Jibrilla Bindow, accusing him of being Atiku’s informant in the party.
This was in reaction to the claim by the governor on Tuesday at the presidential villa, Abuja, that he was one of the founding fathers of All Progressives Congress (APC) from his state (Adamawa) and that he will not follow Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to PDP.
It could be recalled that Gov Jibrilla told State House correspondents in an interview after his visit to President Muhammad Buhari that he will not follow Atiku, whom he adopted as his godfather, to his new party; and that he was one of the founding fathers of the party.
In his reaction, National chairman of Buhari and Vice President Osibanjo Again (BOA) campaign organization for 2019 presidential election, Alhaji Yahaya Hammanjulde, said the Adamawa state governor did not only lied to the president, but that he is Atiku’s informant in APC.
Hammanjulde who cautioned the president against discussing serious party matters and his presidential ambition with Jibrilla said the practical action of the governor has confirmed that even before Atiku defected from the party he was no longer a member of APC.
“If Bindow say he is not following Atiku to PDP why is it that all his recent appointments are all PDP members?. He appointed 50 Development Area Administrators, 44 of them were PDP members. Two months ago, the governor appointed six special Advisers, all PDP members. His calculation is that he will move to PDP with his own structure,” he stated.
He said, if President Buhari takes Bindow’s words serious he is not only digging his political grave, but he will sink the fortunes of APC due to what he described as pathological lies of the governor.
Hammanjulde reminded Buhari that in April this year governor Bindow
endorsed Atiku and advised the people of Adamawa state to vote their own son instead voting for a candidate from another state.
“If the president wants, we can bring the video clips in state house in Abuja and play it for him to see, if he is doubting my words about Bindow. President Buhari should ask his wife whether Bindow is working for the interest of the president in Adamawa, since she is from Adamawa. Her brothers and sisters know what the governor is doing. So the president should don’t be deceived by Bindow; he is moving out of APC,” he maintained.
“The only thing Bindow will tell you that is true is when he says he is the governor of Adamawa state and his name is Mohammed Umaru Jibrilla Bindow. Apart from this, the rest is full of lies and betrayal,” he said.
While confirming Bindow’s exit from APC, the governor’s returning officer during the party’s primaries in 2014, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim, said that it is very clear to the party leadership that the governor is clearing his ways to defect with his godfather (Atiku).
“The governor told us, APC chieftains, through the media immediately after he took oath of office that he dumped former governor Murtala Nyako because Atiku give him N500 million naira for his campaign. So has the governor returned Atiku’s money back? If not, how true is his claim that he cannot follow the former Vice President, when he is indebted to him?” he asked.
Ibrahim added that the unfolding episode is nothing more than the usual digitalized false statements Governor Jibrilla is generally known for.
