Gov. Bello presents Hilux vehicles to 25 LG chairmen

The Niger State governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello has presented Hilux vehicles to the 25 local government chairmen in the state to assist them in carrying out and monitoring activities in their councils.
The governor during the presentation to the Niger State Chairman of Local Government Chairmen at the Government House in Minna, Bello said that the vehicles will ease the movement of the chairmen especially too hard to reach areas.
According to him, ”The essence of the presentation is to provide the local government chairmen with official vehicles so that they can function very well in their duties. We are providing this Toyota Hilux because of the difficult terrain in Niger State.
“Most of the local government areas have difficult terrain. We expect them to monitor activities with their vicinity. I hope this will go a long way towards assisting and supporting them towards achieving their objectives” he stated.
While commending them for thus far since their elections, he charged them to provide logistics that would enhance the mobilization of other staff in the local government areas in order to improve productivity in the local government areas.
The Niger State Chairman of ALGON, Ibrahim Abubakar appreciated the Niger state Governor for the presentation of vehicles to the chairmen stating that the gesture of the governor took them by surprise.
“We feel excited about the car presentation. This is the first time the governor would present a car in less than a month to local government elected chairmen. We are grateful for this presentation.”
He promised that the vehicles would be used for the benefit of the local government areas and would not be diverted for personal use, “We promise to use the cars judiciously, to maintain and use it for the purpose of the local government and not for our personal use.”
In his remarks, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barrister Mohammed Abdulmalik said that the vehicles would add value to the chairmen especially as they intend to reach out to everyone including the people living in hard to reach areas.
