Gov. Al-makura commissions N2.5bn water project in Nasarawa LG

Governor Tanko Almakura on Saturday commissioned a N2.5 billion water scheme in Nasarawa local government council of the state.
He said that, the project commissioned was aimed at palliating the incessant water problem encountered by the residents of the council over the years as well as urged them to guide the facility from vandalization.
The governor who added that the project was part of his campaign promises earlier made to the people of Nasarawa town as well as in fulfillment to provide the dividend of democracy to the entire communities in the state despite his exists in May 29.
According to him, “I am satisfied today that I have fulfilled my administration promises to the people of Nasarawa town. I am leaving Nasarawa town and the entire state with excitement viewed from the tremendous achievements recorded by my leadership from 2011 to date.”
Speaking in an interview, the Arrow head, visionary and a proactive engineer who is the General Manager Nasarawa state water board engineer Umar Abdullahi Agbo who used his wealth of experienced in taking the board to the highest level told newsmen that the administration of governor Almakura has tremendously touched the nooks and crannies of Nasarawa state especially in the sphere of water sector.
According to Agbo,” A lot has been achieved under the leadership of Almakura in the water sector. Before he came on board, the water sector was very low in percentage of water supply. Most of the water schemes in the state were down. Equipments were dilapidated.”
He continued “when Almakura came on board. Water sector was looked into holistically. Plan to address the situation in the state was swiftly put on ground for effective implementation. Now most communities have adequate water supply in the state.”
Engineer Agbo who further enumerated the areas that benefitted water scheme during Almakura’s administration to include Lafia Town, Nasarawa town, Wamba, Awe, Nasarawa Eggon,
Doma,Deddare,Akwanga,Kokona,Keffi and other communities too numerous to mention.
The general manager, however, admonished the people especially the beneficiaries of water projects in the state to make judicious use of the facilities as well as guide the equipments jealously in order to avoid damaging as according to him “ water equipment are capital intensive. Help government so that government can too render quality service to you the public.”
