Alhaji Bakura Mohammed, a traditional title holder in Funakaye Local Government Area of Gombe state, has called on parents to complement Gov Ibrahim Dankwambo gesture by enrolling their children in schools.
Mohammed, who was also the immediate past caretaker chairman Funakaye Local Government Council, told Peoples Daily in Gombe on Saturday that Dankwambo has given much attention to education sector. “Therefore his efforts needed to be complimented by parents. We should always remember that our children are the future leaders. The best thing we can give to them as parents is education’ he said.
He said when Dankwambo was sworn in as the state Gov in 2011, he immediately declared state of emergency in Education sector. “We are all living witness, he embarked on massive construction of schools and renovating the existing ones that were dilapidated’.
“Remember, education is the bedrock of any meaningful development. We as a stake holders, will continue to encourage school enrolment particularly girl-child in our constituency and the state at large,” the traditional title holder affirmed.
According to him, before the advent of Dankwambo, single classroom in a secondary school accommodate 150 pupils. “Thank God, he has redeemed the promises he made during his electioneering campaign, embarked on massive construction and renovation of schools to decongest the
