Tha’anda Rubainu, Gombe state Deputy Governor, has enjoined Nigerians to pray fervently for peace and continued stability in the country.

He made the call on Monday during an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Gombe at an Easter prayer rally organised by the State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Rubainu said that this became imperative because of what the country was passing through.

He said prayers were veritable weapon for peace and security, hence Christians should pray without ceasing.

“Also, we should remember to pray for our law enforcement agencies and government so that God will give us wisdom to rule this country in a very peaceful manner,” he said.

Rubainu challenged Christian faithful to use the opportunity of the celebration of the death and resurrection of Christ to pray fervently for peace and continued stability in the country.

He said all faithful must emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ who laid down his life for the salvation of mankind by sincerely loving one another. (NAN)
