From Mustapha Adamu, Kano

Governor of Kano state, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has paid a sympathy visit on Ibrahim Al-Ameen Little, a chieftain of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state at his residence in Kaduna State.
This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Ganduje, Alhaji Abba Anwar, made available to newsmen yesterday.
Little, a former chairman of the defunct All Peoples Party (APP) in Kano, was shot by unknown gunmen in Kaduna, where he sustained bullet wounds on his arm, on February 27. He was discharged from hospital two days ago after a successful surgical operation.
The statement said Ganduje sympathized with Little, who narrowly escaped death, praying to God to give him quick recovery and protect him in future.
He added that the governor delivered the sympathy message on behalf of the government and people of Kano State, praying to God to see to his quick recovery.
The statement further said that Little expressed profound gratitude to the governor for his surprised visit.
Little was a former State Chairman of the defunct All People’s Party (APP) and one time gubernatorial candidate under People’s Redemption Party in 2007.
He is currently an elder in the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
