God gives leadership of the affairs of people to those who will help them. Such leaders would seek the advice of people who have ideas that are handy in solving problems and they will also value the prayers of the people so that the community and indeed the state will fare well in every aspect”.
The above quote was from Yobe state Governor, Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahin Gaidam, quoting from the teachings of one of the famous Ulamas, Sheik Muhammad Bello in one of the Ulamas’ book titled: “Ifaadat-al-Ikhwan 1835”, to support his search for, and appointment of 6 new special advisers and a permanent secretary in his cabinet.
He stated that since the assumption of office on May 29, his administration has been mobilizing the type of leadership that would understand and promote the guiding philosophy which today has moved the state to one of the fast growing and dynamic states.
He, therefore, urged the new special advisers to strive to work relentlessly to contribute their quota towards the achievement of government policy objectives of effective and efficient service delivery to people of the state.
Stressing the importance of loyalty, the governor charged the new appointees to abide strictly by the oath of office they have taken in giving effective, efficient, loyal and dedicated services to the people of the state.
“Loyalty cannot be compromised; any moment an appointee feels he can no longer be loyal to the administration, he should resign honourably rather than wait to be shown the way out,” the governor said.
