The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road safety Corps (FRSC), Boboye Oyeyemi, has said the Corps would partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure that travelers enjoy safer roads throughout the yuletide season and beyond.
He made the assertion yesterday while flagging off FRSC Kaduna Sector Command end of the year Special Patrol and Ember Months campaign to ensure accident free road in major highways in the state
Oyeyemi, who was represented by the Head of Operations, FRSC Headquarters Abuja, Assistant Corps Marshal Aliyu Gummi, commended Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State for ensuring adequate road rehabilitation and provision of road signs in major roads in the state.
He described the initiative of the Kaduna State Government as commendable and urged other state governments to emulate.
The FRSC boss urged the motoring public to obey traffic rules and regulations as they move from place to place to celebrate the Christmas and New Year.
Also speaking, the Zonal Commanding Officer, Assistant Corps Marshal Bulus Darwang, said that the zone has identified villages along critical corridors where rescue volunteers would be trained in rescue and first aid administration.
On his part, the Sector Commander in the state, Umar Ibrahim, noted that attitude of road users contribute to a large extent, the increase in road accident during festive period.
