NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, has confirmed that four unnamed officials of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have tested positive for Covid-19, following widespread testing carried out at the Sunday Dankaro House in Abuja.
The testing became necessary after a member of the NFF management tested positive for Covid-19 about two weeks ago.
Confirming the development, Sanusi said a ‘significant number’ of the individuals who were tested at the federation returned negative results, adding that the officials who tested positive to the deadly virus are currently asymptomatic and in ‘very good health condition,’ while further results are being awaited.
“I decided that tests be conducted for all the staff of the Nigeria Football Federation because we had interactions with them, especially the Director, Finance and Administration,” the NFF Scribe explained on a webinar monitored by newsmen.
“And we made that arrangement with them, (people at) Nigeria Football Federation were tested.
“The results have started coming out, we have received a significant number so far from the tests conducted.
“And I’m happy to tell you that some members of staff tested negative. We had, of course, for now, three positive results and they are in very good health conditions,” he said.
