A group under the auspice of Barrister Sam Otoboezie Foundation, (BSOF), has donated limps to 10 accident victims in Kaduna.
The Organizational Manager of BSOF, Agbenu Erica Okibe, disclosed this in Kaduna yesterday while speaking to the media.
According to her, the Foundation in collaboration with Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, selected 10 victims who lost their limps during different accidents.
Okibe said the Foundation is committed to bringing smiles to the less privilege especially people living with disability in order to make them useful to themselves and society.
“We’re moving ten victims who lost their limps from Kaduna to Port-Harcourt for experts to take measurement of their limps and produce artificial ones for them.
“We will accommodate them in hotel already reserved for them in Port Harcourt for the period they will be there,” she said.
The Organizational Manager added that the beneficiaries will be given stipends to start business of their own in order to make them self reliant.
She said the Foundation has been giving artificial limps to victims for the past ten years and more than 50 people have benefitted from it.
In his remarks, President of Northern Youth Council of Nigeria, Isah Abubakar, said this is a welcome development in Nigeria, because Barr. Otoboeze is not from the north but today he’s putting on smiles on the faces of Northerners.
Abubakar added that this is a wake up call to the rich in the North to use their God given resources for the benefits of their brothers and sisters.
The Managing Director of Kaduna Line, Orgar Augustine, said his company decided to go into the project because its noble.
Ogar said Kaduna Line will provide the logistics to move the beneficiaries from Kaduna to Port Harcourt and back to Kaduna.
