Fosla Football Club, FFC, yesterday booked their place into the FCT 2018 Super 4 after defeating their opponents in a keenly contest last Group B encounter.
Fosla FC defeated Family Worship Centre, FWC FC, by 2-1 to qualify for the Super 4.
With the victory, Fosla joins Waco FC and Flomat FC into the Super 4 of the 2018 FCT FA League.
Two goals, one in either of the half by Friday Ali in 7th minute and Solomon Abraham in the 70th minute gave saw Fosla FC took the lead against FWC FC but Ifeanyi Omefe reduced the tally in 75th minute to ensure the match went into a nervy finish.
A moment of controversy followed when the referee blew the final whistle with FWC FC officials and players protesting that the centre referee did not allow the duration of 90 minutes of the match to elapse. But a check with the assistant referee showed that the 90 minutes of the match was duly exhausted following 2 minutes of water break given by the centre referee due to intense heat and sunshine.
The match was a keenly contested game as both teams needed the points to ensure their progression into the Super 4. FWC needed just a draw to progress while Fosla needed an outright win. FWC had defeated FC Liberty 3-0 in their first match while Fosla played out a 1-1 draw with them.
The Super 4 will kick off on Monday, November 18 with the final team to join Fosla, Flomat and Waco football clubs to be decided today between Raphsody FC and Catholic Cadet. The match will kick off by 10am toady while the last match in the day will see Basic Maracana tackle FC Democrats by 12noon.
The Super 4 will be played in a round rugby with the overall winner declared champion of the FCT 2018 League and will represent the FCT in the Division 3 Playoff next season.
