Forte Oil Plc joins British Safety Council

Forte Oil PLC Nigeria has announced it has joined the British Safety Council as part of its efforts to strengthen the company’s Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) management systems through industry benchmarking and adoption of global best practices.

The British Safety Council is non-for-profit organisation which offers round-the-clock advisory services as well as a broad range of world-class audit and training support on matters relating to occupational HSE requirements.

The body also champions good practice and continual improvement, both of which are promoted through the British Safety Council’s Awards schemes and it’s ‘Five Star Audits’.

Forte Oil joins over 6,000 corporate members across over 60 different countries globally, including Nigeria, where companies such as the NNPC, Unilever Nigeria, Etisalat Nigeria, Fidelity Bank Plc, Nigeria LNG, Century Group, Afren Nigeria, Indorama Eleme Petrochemicals Limited, Trevi Foundations, Moni Pulo Limited, Nestoil Group Plc, Oando Marketing Plc, UACN Property Development Company Plc and Intels Nigeria, have already signed in.

Commenting on the membership, Engr. Obed Ekeocha, the Head of Health Safety, Security, Environment and Quality said; “We are pleased to join the British Safety Council, which provides support to a league of safety-focused organisations seeking continuous improvement of their HSE management systems. Our objective is to leverage this platform to entrench an enviable safety and environmental standard in line with global best practice. We are confident that this step will further help to equip our people to achieve our utmost commitment to build a workplace of zero-injury to employees and visitors alike”.
