Fire razes multi-millionaire naira Ogwashi Uku market in Delta

Mysterious fire outbreak which occurred on Monday night destroyed stores at the main market in Ogwashi Uku community near Asaba, Delta State, including properties worth millions of naira .
It was gathered that, the fire outbreak started at about 10 pm on Monday after some of the owners of the stores had allegedly raised the alarm that they dreamt their stores were razed, and called for collective prayers to avert the dangers that was to no avail.
Worse hit in the mysterious inferno, were : electronics shops, sundry goods and stores for fairly used among others.
But sources said that the fire out break May have been caused by high electricity voltage.
An eyewitness, John Ebuka said” It was the red flame and smoke from one of the stores that attracted our interest, we had to contact the security men in the market who in turn started calling people, Why we are suspecting the inferno to may have been triggered by high voltage was due to the fact that the fire outbreak started few minutes after the electricity went off.”
While describing the fire out break to be mysterious, Mrs Rosemary Ojeogwu, a resident of Ogwashi Uku community appealed to the state government to come to the victims’ aid.
As at the time of filling this report, several traders and sympathizers had besieged the scene of the incident as they went about profusely discussing the destroyed goods among others.
The chairman of Aniocha south local government, Mr Issac Awuzia, however, assured that the traders of the council’s investigation to the inferno, adding that the council authorities will do everything possible to assist the victims.
