The Federal Government has promised to complete eighty housing units in Plateau state before the end of this year.
The Plateau state project of the National Housing Programme was said to have started early this year.
This was disclosed by the Federal Controller, National Housing Programme Plateau State , Ochapa Adadu, yesterday in Jos during a visit to the National Housing Programme site at Laminga village of Jos East Local Government of Plateau State.
National Housing Programme is a federal government programme aimed at building houses across the 36 state of the country to reduce housing problem.
According to Adadu, “phase 1 is taking 80 units which consists of 2 blocks of one bedroom semi detached, 24 blocks of two bedroom semi detached and 14 blocks of three bedroom semi detached.”
The Minister of state ll for Federal ministry of power, works and Housing, Sulaiman Hassan Zarma While responding to the media on the beneficiaries said, “ anybody contributing to the National Housing Fund is qualified to get the house and government is determined to support the contractors to complete the project.”
Our reporter observed that some of the houses are in finishing level, some in the roofing while some in parapet level and the total sum of the projects is 771, 441,333 ,65.
