FG to choose between Shekoni, FMC as Dutse Varsity teaching hospital -Minister

The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced its intention to choose best between the Rashedi Shikoni Specialist Hospital and Federal Medical Centre Birnin kudu as teaching hospital for Federal University Dutse.
This was announced by the Minister of Health, Osagie Emmanuel Ehanire yesterday at a one- day assessment visit to both Rasheedi Shikoni and FMC Birnin Kudu.
The Minister explained that, he is in Jigawa with his technical team for a final assessment of the two hospitals and submit the findings to Mr. President for approval of the best.
“I am not the one to make a final approval, rather I was just directed by my boss that is Mr. President, to visit the two hospitals with my technical team, compile the findings and present it to him for next action”, Minister said.
He assured that the findings would be favourable to the entire Jigawa State people adding that, federal government will continue supporting Jigawa for a better health care.
While making his remarks, the Emir of Dutse, Alhaji Nuhu Muhammad Sunusi said both hospitals are situated in the same emirate but the proximity is another factor for the safety of students.
Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor, Feder‎al University Dutse, Professor Fatima Batoul Mukhtar said, it take the university two years processing to get Rasheedi Shekoni hospital as its teaching hospital.
According to her, though the hospital was built by the state government and release to the University since last two years but yet federal government didn’t approved it as teaching hospital.
She then prayed that, this visit to be a final approval of the hospital for easier access to students and better health care development in the state.
In his remarks, the state Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi urged the federal government to approve two hospitals as teaching hospitals in the state.
