FG set to modernize schools in Katagum Emirate Council

The Federal Government has indicated its preparedness to renovate all primary schools in Katagum Emirate Council of Bauchi State to boost teaching and learning.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu when he received the Emir of Katagum, His Highness, Alhaji Umar Farouk II in Abuja.
The Minister underscored the importance of primary education and described it as the bedrock upon which all other educational institutions are built. He, therefore directed the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Anwukah, to drive the process so as to ensure that the modernization project is effectively carried out.
On the visit of the Emir to the Ministry, the Hon Minister described His Highness, Alhaji Umar Farouk II as an outstanding Emir having served the Federal Government as director and subsequently retired as Permanent Secretary whose wealth of experience has helped to put Katagum on the world map.
He pledged his support to the Emirate Council, particularly, in the area of education as it is the key to modernization and enlightment.
Speaking earlier, His Highness, the Emir Katagum Alhaji Umar Farouk II said that he was on a visit to the Ministry so as to express appreciation to President Muhamadu Buhari for his support and encouragement over the fire incident which gutted the Katagum main market.
He further described the Minister as ‘’ a man of the people and one of our sons that we are very proud of. ‘’
In a vote of thanks, the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Arc. Sonny Enchono pledged the Ministry’s continuous support to traditional institutions in the Country and indicated that the Ministry’s effort will be geared towards giving a face-lift to primary schools in Katagum.
