FG Academy Suleja wins 2017 globe mathematics quiz

Ibe Ikechukwu of Federal Government Academy Suleja has emerged winner of the 2017 Annual Globe Mathematics Quiz competition organized by Federal Ministry of Education for students of Federal Government Colleges (FGCs).
Second position went to Ofor Chidera of Federal Government College Enugu, while Bode Hassan of Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba clinched the third place trophy.
Chika Ugada of Federal Government Girls College Owerri was honoured as the best performing female student in the competition even though she did not rank among the top three.
Speaking at the grand finale of the competition held in the Conference Hall of Federal Ministry of Education, Abuja, Ag. Director of Technology and Science Education in the Ministry, Mrs. Tina Eyaru emphasized the place of Mathematics as the bedrock of other academic disciplines, stressing that the quiz competition was designed to promote learning of the subject among students. She enjoined the students to keep the flag flying, stating that it is a fact that students who scaled through to this level of the competition from the geo-political zones are all winners.
Assistant Director, Globe and Climate Change (G & CC) in the department of Technology and Science Education of the Ministry, Mrs. Olaniyan Gbemisola in her vote of thanks, expressed appreciation to Management of Federal Ministry of Education for creating the platform to advance the course of Mathematics and urged all the stakeholders to sustain their efforts.
Other participating Colleges in the competition were: Federal Government College Port Harcourt, FGC Warri, FGC Yola, FGC Dayi, FGC Zuru, FGC Anka, FGC Ilorin, Federal Government Girls College Owerri and Kings College, Lagos.
