The media officer of the club, Obaseki Anthony told newsmen that the Borno Army has been boosted with the return of Flying Eagles star Ifeanyi Matthew for the game with the Pride of Rivers for a place in the last 8.
“The team always travels two days for any of their away matches. Since we got our letter for the round of 16 on Monday from Abuja, the management has taken care of all the logistics as our team left Maiduguri on Tuesday, rested a night somewhere and moved to Lafia the venue of our match on Wednesday to play today.
“All our players are in good shape, coach [Salisu] Yusuf who just came back from the World Cup in Brazil will bank on Flying Eagles star [Ifeanyi] Mathew who secured the winning goal against Abia Warriors, alongside Ajia Emmmanuel, Hassan Hussein and Abraham Audu,” Obaseki said.
He further disclosed that hundreds of the team’s supporters are expected to storm Lafia for the Federation Cup tie.
“You see our fans are coming to Lafia in large numbers. I want to use this medium to thank them for all their support. For the match against Dolphins, though a good side but the high spirit in our team will see us through.
“[Dolphins] cannot stop us as much as we are not underrating them, but 90 minutes will determine the winner,” Obaseki added.
