No fewer than 1,354 students from different fields of study graduated at Federal College of Horticulture Dadin-Kowa in Gombe State.
Presenting the graduants at the weekend before the visitor during the convocation ceremony President Muhammadu Buhari who was represented by the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji MuhamMadu Sabo NaNoNo provost of the college Prof. Fatima Sawa said among the graduating class comprising of 346 Higher National Diploma and 1006 National Diploma.
While congratulating the graduating class she said the college was approved and established on the 19th of April 2002 by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo under Decree No 35 of June 1975 Act.
She said the college since it’s inception has witnessed successes and achievements in academic programme by introducin 14 additional programmes to the 4 initial one that was offered by the college.
Prof Sawa in her words: said the college was able to rectify issues that concerning staff promotions, arrears and placements noting that out standing cases will be addressed soon.
In remarks, Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya pledged government support to work harmoniously with the federal government in ensuring the success of the college.
He called on graduating students to engage themselves through skill acquisition programme than hunting for white collar jobs.
