The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has declared readiness to partner with some traders to reach out to at least 1000 people at markets in Territory.
Bello reiterated the administration’s support for laudable projects aimed building an healthy population and sensitising the people on government policies and programmes.
He made the assertion when he received members of the Nigeria Traders for President Muhammadu Buhari (NTPMB) last week, on a courtesy visit to his office.
According to the Minister, FCT Administration would grant the organization access to all markets under the authority of the Administration for the purpose of the exercise.
He therefore directed relevant Secretariats, Departments and Agencies (SDAs) to work with the group towards the realization of the laudable programme.
Earlier, the National Coordinator of the group, Prince Paul Ikonne said the visit was to solicit the support of the FCTA for the various programmes they have lined up to bring together all traders and galvanise support for Buhari ahead of the 2019 elections.
Prince Ikonne said the group plans on public enlightenment, free medical checks and town hall meetings to sensitise traders on the laudable policies and programmes of current administration.
The National Coordinator stated that the group plans on reaching out to at least 1000 people at each market visited, starting with the Kuje Market in Kuje area council of the FCT.
He lamented that most traders do not have time to listen to news and hardly are sensitised on government laudable programmes aimed at uplifting their lives, hence the need for the sensitisation, including free eye check and glasses, HIV and malaria tests as well as town hall meetings.
He appealed to the Minister to provide support in areas of access to the markets, security, drugs and medical personnel.
