The principal of Government Secondary School Kilankwa II in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mr Undelikwo Paulinus, has appealed to the FCT Administration to deem it necessary to provide infrastructural facilities in the school for the sake of students.
Paulinus, who made this appeal while presenting his maiden speech during the first inter-house sports competition held on Thursday, also pleaded for modern training equipment in the school.
He expressed with joy being the first principal to host the first annual inter-house sports competition in the institution.
His words: “There is a glaring fact and evidence that sports enhances the development and learning and encourages better academic performance. Sports encourages and improves physical fitness and reduction of childhood obesity”.
He called on the parents, guardians as well as philanthropists to encourage the students or the young ones to engage in different forms of sporting activities.
Paulinus, however, applauded the efforts of the FCT Secondary Education Board, the PTA, the Management of the school, the teachers, the house masters and the community leaders for their commitment towards the sustenance of the academics, sports and moral culture of the school.
At the end of the inter-house sports competition, Yellow House took the 1st position, the 2nd position went to Blue House while Green House maintained the 3rd position.
