The new Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT, CSP Tile Tersoo, has tasked the vigilante group as well as the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to co-operate with him to fight crime collectively in Gwagwalada and its environs.
He also urged the entire Police Officers of his command to work hand in hand with him to arrest the security challenges facing the residents of the area.
Tersoo, who gave the charge while addressing the Police during the handing over ceremony at the Gwagwalada Police Divisional Command, further urged the security agents to work closely with him for the sake of peace.
He said: “When you have an information let us get the information immediately and see how we can work on the information and achieve the result”.
He, therefore, charged the police officers to deem it fit to give the maximum co-operation they had accorded to his predecessor in the area of curbing against crime.
His words: “I am a very free minded person. I have no friend. My friend is the one who can do the right thing, whether you are a Muslim, whether you are a Christian and whether you are a pagan. I do not have preference to anybody. My preference is for those who do the job rightly”.
The DPO, however, assured the police and other security outfits that he would take them long in the affairs of things at the command, and urged them not compromise in the discharge of their duties.
Speaking earlier, the outgoing DPO, Mr Wilson Dankwano who was recent promoted to an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) advised the new DPO to embrace every Police at the command.
Dankwano pleaded with the DPO to take vigilante group as well as CJTF long in the security fight, while warning the DPO against nepotism or tribal sectionalism.
