Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie has said that the Super Falcons would play their next game against Cameroon like wounded lion to ensure nothing short of the trophy.
The African champions beat Banyana Banyana 2-1 in one of the semi final matches to qualify for the final of the 2014 Africa Women’s championship while Cameroon eliminated Ivory Coast with the same goals margins.
The 20-year old Guingamp striker who said this after South Africa match added that Falcons must do everything possible to win the final.
“We are thrilled with the win over South Africa and now we have to go to the World Cup as African champions. We want to win the tournament and represent Africa at the World Cup as champions,” she said.
“It hasn’t been an easy ride, especially after we lost the title last time and now we are hoping to win it again because the aim is to go to Canada as African champions and hopefully we will achieve that,” she added.
The Falcons will win the competition for the ninth time if they beat Cameroon on Saturday, but Oparanozie admits it wouldn’t be an easy duel.
“Playing Cameroon is always tough because they have some very strong players and are always very physical but we hope to beat them in the final because like I said, the target is to win the championship and go to the World Cup as African champions.”
