The Coordinator of Bredhub, an educational services firm, Mr Chimezie Ikeme, has said the knowledge of interactive robotics technology will expose Nigerian pupils to endless opportunities.
Ikeme, at a briefing held in Lagos , said there was a need for Nigerian schools to embrace the teaching of robotics technology in other to catch up with the rest of the world and prepare the pupils for a future in the technology industry.
He said the firm has concluded plan to train interested teachers and pupils between March 13 and 18 in Lagos to create awareness about the endless opportunities embedded in the technology industry.
“The intent behind our action is to make sure every child has access to technology using UBTech robotics. It will help our economy because we need to start preparing our pupils for the future. Our children will stop writing letters to work for people, because they will start working for themselves when they are fully equipped with the knowledge of robotics technology,” Ikeme said.
The Business Manager of the firm, Mr Oluwatobi Adeboyejo, said every child should have the tools to use robotics technology to create solutions to problems.
He said, “Whether we are ready or not, the fourth industrial revolution which is about AI robotics is about to stay. it is better we key into it and I think we have started at the right place, which is to educate the pupils in primary and secondary schools alongside their teachers.”
