A former presidential candidate in  the 2007 general elections, Chief Osita Okereke has urged President Muhammadu Buhari too reshuffle his cabinet.

He alleged that there are several saboteurs within President Buhari’s cabinet, urging the president to reshuffle his cabinet as no government within and outside Nigeria retains cabinet members for four years tenure.

Okereke, also chided the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) on the ongoing anti-corruption war in the country alleging that the commission arrest and detain people recklessly without basics and investigation.

Chief Osita who is also the Director General, National Taskforce to Combat Illegal Possession of Arms and Light Weapon in the country made the observation while speaking with some selected media practitioners in his office in Abuja.

Chief Okereke while responding to questions field in by journalists on the achievements of President Mohammed Buhari said the incumbent has the interest of Nigerians at heart adding that his sincere and honest interest toward Nigerians are scuttled by cliques and cabers around the president.

‘President Mohammedu Buhari is a man of integrity, this even his worst critics can never ague because the present government won because of Buhari records of integrity. We must all know that president cannot do it alone, that is why we have three alms of government in  every democracy, the executive, the legislature and the judiciary’’.

‘I want president Buhari to effect necessary changes in the commission because the act that established them said any other person from other security organization can be appointed to man EFCC, why must only the police be there? We have several qualify men and women which when appointed could make things to happen positively in that commission”.

‘Magu should be changed, the place has been turned to police station where everybody could be arrested  and detain based on mere speculation and suspicion, is not supposed to be like that, the law is clear when it says that a person accused of an offence should be seen as innocence unless proven otherwise by a competent court of jurisdiction. Visit EFCC cell now, many perceived political enemies are there and they will bring a condition that are not always easy for people to meet”.

Chief Okereke further blamed insecurity problem in the country on the activities of the dreaded Boko Haram emphasizing that his organization will addressed the problem once their bill before the national assembly scale through.

He said his national task force will penetrate all nooks and crannies of the country to provide security to all stressing that they are backed up by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

On their duties, he explained will compliment personnel of the Nigerian Police force in the country.
