Former minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Hajiya Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim has appealed to politicians who contested the 2019 general elections and won to look back and remember those electorates who braved life inconveniences and trooped to polling units to cast their votes, to work for improving their living standard as dividend of democracy.
Hajiyya Khadija Bukar Abba Ibrahim made the appeal yesterday while speaking with journalists shortly after casting her votes at Mari, her voting unit in the Emirs Palace polling booth in Damaturu, the state capital.
She noted the turnout of people of different life status, which includes those physically challenged, jobless youths, old men and women and said the best way to reciprocate their coming out to vote for the candidates of their choice should be positive and not the other way of abandoning of forgetting what they have endure to get to the polling booths that finally gave election victory to their candidates they have voted for.
On her part she promised to do more in helping her people, while however calling on the people to be patient because all things cannot be achieved at once but gradually due to known and sometimes unforeseen circumstances.
She also was among the winners of All Progressives Congress member of the House of Representatives election to represent Damatura, Gujba, Gulani, and Tarmuwa federal constituency.
