A former lawmaker who represented Akwanga South Constituency at the 5th Nasarawa State House of Assembly, as well as 2019 leader of the Presidential Support Committee Group for President Muhammadu Buhari re-election, Honourable Kassim Mohammed Kassim, has called on the President to as a matter of concern listen to the cry of the poor masses by keeping to his manifestos during his campaign for the first and second term bid.
Kassim who made the plea yesterday in an interview with newsmen in Lafia, the Nasarawa State Capital, said “The cardinal point of the group was to support the good intention and activities of Buhari, following his antecedents from the beginning.”
According to him “I am calling on Mr. President to take the sole ownership of his office by fulfilling his promises made to Nigerians, especially the poor masses. Nigerians gave him the maximum trust by praying for his success. Today, we don’t want Nigerians to regret voting him. I call on Mr. President to focus more attention on the poor masses by providing the needed social amenities to the people.
He continued “What we hear people talking everyday about Mr. President is not pleasing. I urge him to keep to his manifesto, especially fighting corruption, creating jobs, creating conducive environment for foreign investors, as well as stabilize the insecurity situations bedeviling the society today.”
“Baba should desist from accepting wrong advices that can mislead him. Nigerians really have the trust and full confidence on him. I wonder why today, his ideas and the good intention of Mr. President have been taken away and Nigerians are complaining”, he said.
Speaking on Governor Abdullahi Sule’s administration in Nasarawa State, Kassim described the Governor as a realist, who believes in doing the right thing that would benefit the entire society, as according to him, “Governor Abdullahi Sule will only not be one of the best but he will be the best Governor in the state.”
“He has what it takes in terms of attracting the attention of foreign investors to the state. I urge the people of Nasarawa State to give him a little time. Governor Sule will surely give Nasarawa State the best leadership.”
