From Lawal Sa’idu Funtua, Katsina
A former Secretary to Katsina State Government, Alhaji Mustapha Inuwa, has formally declared his intention to run for the post of Katsina state All Progressive Congress, APC, chairman.
Making the formal declaration in an interview with newsmen yesterday in Katsina, Inuwa noted that he resolved to join the race after due pressure from some stakeholders of the party.
He said “I have no intention of vying for the office of chairman of the party. It was various interests of the party that encouraged me to seek for the office and therefore I cannot disregard their calls”.
The former SSG noted that despite his intention to contest the election, it was, according to him “ not a do or die afffair. If I am elected, fine if it is otherwise I have no hurt feelings”.
Inuwa similarly promised to contribute his quota in solidifying the party in the state if elected, adding that the central issue was to set a standard and provide a vision for the succees of the party in the state.
The APC stalwart therefore urged various interests in the party to work towards building the party structures in the state, which he said was the only way of wresting power from the PDP in the state.
